Helping the Indian Youth
If you live or work near an Indian reservation you may have recognized the stunning propensity of the youth to engage in bad behaviors. If you’ve got the time, take a break from your small business xo and your own family issues and help how you can in the Indian community – it can make all the difference.
Mentor a Youth: What better gift to give an at-risk youth than your time and attention? Particularly if you’re not a part of the reservation already, get involved in a program like Big Brothers Big Sisters or even mentor the child of a friend or colleague.
Volunteer Tutoring: Many Indian youth have trouble in school and subsequently drop out. Volunteer your time and knowledge as a tutor and help them get inspired to do well and graduate high school.
Create Bridges: Building metaphorical bridges between Indians and non-Indians can really help engage children, both yours and Indian. Create community projects, crossover sports teams and even large-scale outreach projects and see how far your good will can go.
