AMERICAN INDIAN PREVENTION COALITION INC.

Our Mission

To support the development of safe, successful, healthy and drug-free American Indian and other indigenous youth, families and communities in urban and reservation areas.

Our Profile

WHO WE ARE: AIPC was founded in 1998.  We are an American Indian owned and operated intertribal 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  AIPC’s governing board is 90% enrolled tribal members. Our EI number is 86-0959751.   

MEMBERSHIP: Membership is free and open to all people interested in improving the health, education and quality of life for all Indian people.  We currently represent have membership representing over 100 different tribes.  AIPC has a membership which includes over 300 individuals, businesses, health agencies, schools and tribes throughout the southwest.

GOALS

Connect existing Indian organizations and community coalitions with available resources.  Support wellness activities in our communities; assist in the formation of new Indian community coalitions; and develop new businesses within Native communities and connect Native American youth to employment opportunities.

 Inform Indian communities about available wellness and prevention funding and program resources through fax and email alerts; Provide an informational website that offers prevention program tools, links to multiple wellness resources and keep communities current on policies that impact programs. 

Train and provide high quality technical assistance and access to effective research based prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery programs.  Communities can access quality, culturally appropriate trainers that help develop and implement effective programs.

 Advocate for additional resources for Indian communities.  AIPC maintains membership on a variety of influential, strategic tribal, state and national advisory councils.  AIPC organizes communities to formulate plans to improve the quality of life and health by reducing health risks such as alcohol and other drug abuse, violence, crime, academic failure etc.
